MEMORIES OF THE ALLIES
Shortly after the liberation, the Allies moved into public buildings along the Grebbe Line. Hotels, mansions, farms, barracks, and even Renswoude Castle provided shelter for the thousands of soldiers in the area. Some units moved again, but others stayed for months along the line among the local population. War memorabilia were preserved in countless sheds.
